TILTW - Week 01

Yo guys! How’s it going? This was a long and hectic week but we pulled through it. This is actually my first blog writing about what I learnt in the entire week and this idea is inspired by Arpit Ingle. As you all know I used to share my daily ML progress on X but then it faced a huge break due to all the events happening in my life + the hectic schedule I was going through. Well now I am a little free and I have decided to learn more. Learn more about ML, DL, and Computer Science in general. I have also made a few plans about making cool stuff with my friends, so expect some cool info about it in the future.

So, I have started learning about the Convolutional Neural Networks since I am soon going to start working on a project related to this. I have watched a few lectures from Justin Johnson’s Michigan University CNN course. Justin Johnson really teaches so well that you will know about a lot of things by the end of every lecture. I will continue watching this course and explore more of CNN.

This one is a really nice course if you wanna watch… cnn-image

Now, since I have a good amount of time in my hands I am planning to csmaxx my way to the top. And first I have planned to learn more about operating systems. I have also thought about the possibilities of merging machine learning and deep learning with operating system. And I am getting crazy ideas. First, I researched about IBM agents. These are small AI agents that are really useful. Then just as I was searching for resources to learn about operating system, Tetsuo dropped this absolute banger by UCDavis: ECS 150: Operating Systems and System Programming

I started watching this course all the way from the prerequisites and they are bangers as well. Got so much to learn from them. (Highly recommended!)

Well I was also at the research stage for another project that includes playing with Indic Languages and so I needed some resources and help that could help me get started with this shit. And AI4Bharat comes in for the rescue. AI4Bharat has covered almost all the requirements a developer has while developing applications containing indic languages. They not only have tokenizer, translators, etc. but they have made it for 22 languages. I discovered this platform after exploring all the hells that I could’ve gone into if this platform wouldn’t have existed.

A huge shoutout to Raj Dabre sensei and the rest of AI4Bharat team for this great work!

Well, after reading about all these complex things, I thought am I really coding the way I should. And this called for hard reset. I bought the infamous “The C Programming Language” book and decided to re-learn from the basics, since I’m gonna need this in my way further. I have started reading it and I already noticed a lot of things that I was unaware of and those I was doing wrong. Sometimes, it is really necessary to take two steps back to jump twenty steps further.

This was my first week and so couldn’t properly note things down. I’ll do it more efficiently from next week. Any suggestions from you guys are welcome. Please feel free to tell me in the comment section. I’ll come back next week with more things I learnt…

until then Cya:)
