Yo guys! How’s it going!? Here we are again after a week. Thank you so much for clicking and coming here to read this blog.
Ever heard of a bio-computer! If you did that’s good but if you didn’t don’t worry I had no idea what bio-computers were until a week ago. I came across this concept via Instagram reels (platform where you least expect to get something useful after linkedin). I did a little research and I was completely blown off by how we can use our own brain cells and other bio components to create computers that are energy efficient + more computationally powerful. The companies producing these computers claim their computers consume a “million” times less energy!! now that’s insane.
To power this setup microfluidic systems are being explored. This will directly supply the oxygen and essential nutrients to the cells. Efforts are also being made to make the communication with these cells more efficient so as to store the data inside them and make more advanced systems in the future.
This also brings about the possibility of creating AGI through bio-computers. Since, these systems are created literally using human cells, they may as well develop human like thinking abilities.

Right now only companies like FinalSpark and Ailurus are working to make this successful.
Although, this seems like a nice idea since this consumes less energy and provides more computation but there are several issues surrounding this research. Main ones being the ethical concerns. Even if only a small part of brain cells is used, we are still using brain cells and they have life in them (they may i am no doctor to confirm this). So to use them for such uses possess ethical concerns. There are also possibilities that these cells may gain consciousness. People fear that if these systems gain consciousness and gather enough of themselves, they can turn the tables on us. But I don’t think this will be a reality in near future, if the governments and people allow them to carry on their research that is.
As I mentioned in the last blog about my increasing interest in low level programming. I continued my voyage in this vast ocean of low level world this week. I am trying to learn more about how computers work and how the operating systems work and the possibility of combining machine learning with all of this. I also researched some more about Linux OS and its beauty. Can’t believe a single person built it with limited resources back in the 90’s. It is open source so we can learn all about it. I am learning about Linux, so I am using Linux From Scratch (LFS) to learn ins and outs of Linux. But, I am finding it a bit confusing so my friend suggested me to try installing arch to get a basic idea of how drivers are installed and how things work and then jump over to LFS. So, that’s what I’m gonna do now (after I write this)
This was a good week. I went back to meet my mother after months so I did nothing but spent time with her for 3 days. It was good and recharging.
I’ll come back with a new blog with new things next week. Until then, Cya:)
